About Kevin

Hi, I’m Kevin B. Parsons, welcome to my website. Pull up a chair and I’ll tell you a little about myself. First, I’m Kevin Barry Parsons, named after an Irish patriot, Kevin Barry. He died for his country at the young age of 18 at the hands of the British. Sounds like one of our revolutionary forefathers, doesn’t it? I was born in 1953, the third of three. The baby. The spoiled one. Yep, I don’t deny it. A post-war Baby Boomer. The son of The Greatest Generation.

I’ve been married to my patient wife Sherri since 1974. We have 4 children- three boys and a girl- and three grandchildren-two boys and a girl.

It’s funny how Who I Am is determined by What I Do, but it does tell a lot of the story. I have owned a construction company since 1973 with my brother and my dad. We have built natural rock retaining walls all over the West Coast. You can find out more about that at www.parsonswalls.com.

I’m a writer as well. I have been writing since I was three. Haven’t we all? However, I started writing short stories and starting those danged novels around 1999. I have had a few articles published and have published my first book, “Ken Johnson and Roxi the Rocker”. You can click on the tab to see more about that. The novels are still moving with fits and starts. I have a lot of my short stories on this website as well for your reading enjoyment.

I’m an adventurer as well. I have raced motorcycles since 1966, and recently race in the MRAN series (Motorcycle Racing Association of Nevada) and raced Best in the Desert as well. Visit them at www.mranrcing.org and www.bitd.com. Racing of any type is so exciting, and it is thrilling to compete. Many of my stories are motorcycle racing and riding stories.

I’m a Christian too. I committed my life to Christ in 1970, and He changed my life, breaking the chains of addiction and alcoholism in my family. I’m now active at Canyon Ridge Christian Church. Visit them at www.canyonridge.org. I’m a leader in Small Groups and help lead our Wild at Heart Adventures. These include ATV rides, fishing, mountain biking, snowmobiling and hiking. It is not a boring church!

So there’s the nickel tour! Browse around my site, read a story or two and enjoy!
