- Take in two of the most exciting cities in the eastern USA by heading from the City of Brotherly Love to Confluence City. Start out with a visit to the Liberty Bell and the Rocky Steps, drive west via the Boyd Big Tree Preserve, then soak up the forest scenery on route 76.
- See southern Pennsylvania's Amish Country from behind the wheel. Kick things off in Lancaster, before hitting the back roads, through covered bridges and stunning scenery. Take a bit in Intercourse, via the religious center at Ephrata, and on to the modern attractions of Hersheypark.
- Beautiful mountain views when you take a drive in the Alleghenies, and Route 6 is the road to take. Stop off at Pine Creek Gorge to marvel at the forested canyon, tour the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, and brave the skywalk at Kinzua Bridge (if you have a head for heights).
- Every American should visit Gettysburg at some point, site of the country's greatest battle (and Lincoln's inspirational address). From there, a good route for a scenic exploration could take you through the Michaux State Forest, before heading north on I-83 to Tuscarora State Forest, and then sweeping down the Susquehanna into Harrisburg.
The average price for accommodation in Pennsylvania is between usually $174 and $248 per night.
