Book Synopsis

Ken Johnson and Roxi live in Boulderton. Roxi is a trackhoe, or hydraulic excavator. She has a special grapple, like a hand, to place rocks. Ken operates Roxi and together they build natural rock walls around town. But most of all they like to help people. One day the mayor comes with bad news; a monsoon storm is coming, and the resulting flood will wash people’s houses away including little Timmy’s. Ken and Roxi rush to the rescue! Do they have enough hot chocolate and high test diesel fuel to get the job done? Can they place twenty truckloads of rocks fast enough? Read it aloud to your little ones, or help the older ones read it themselves to find out. See how many rabbits and birds you can find hidden in the illustrations as you read.

Ken Johnson and Roxi the Rocker is a delightful adventure book that appeals to children who like construction and construction related equipment. Roxi takes on more persona that a piece of equipment as she helps Ken attempt to rescue little Timmy and his house. As Ken helps little Timmy, he helps the mayor as well.
